Horse chestnut burl and resin space bowl

This platter is one of me signature pieces. I want to come up with a way of using smaller pieces highly figured wood that are to small and distant for the firer. This platter is made from horse chestnut burl that I have gilded, The first layer of gilding was a black 927 silver and I next layer was a 927 silver gilding but I let the black come though the silver to give it a contrast  to make it look like a meteorite floating in space. And with the resin I have tried to make it like the darkness of space
