You This is one of my signature pieces of work what I’ve used here is a combination of horse chestnut burl and resin. I have gilded the outer side natural edge of the burl caps with a aluminium, blue and purple flake that’s giving it more of a rock meteorite, looking substance, I’d like to pour the wooden resin together, so it creates a more of a landscape painting, but in a three-dimensional form so it comes across more as a visual art sculpture that if you wanted can be used as a bowl, all three pieces of wood have been stabilised with stabilising resin, but I have added dye to the resin which then has died the wood to make it more organic. Then the piece has been carefully melted to a traditional wood turning lathe then carefully turned with traditional tools into the shape you seen now.

With all my resin art forms, I try to make them look like a landscape painting, but in a three-dimensional form. I like to use a small piece of wood that would otherwise be destined for the fire. I stabilise the wood and dye it at the same time. This gives the piece more depth and gives it a really nice texture. I’m free to make it anyway I choose as I’m not tied down to a particular shape, size or colour, like would normally be the case with a log. In addition to my resin pieces, I still love to make the more traditional wood turned art forms, but incorporating the natural angles and shapes from the tree
